About this category
FindUtils media tools trim, crop, mute, reverse, retime, merge, compress and convert video and audio inside your browser. The browser reads your file and processes it on your device: WebCodecs through the Mediabunny library handles demuxing, muxing and re-encoding, the browser's MediaRecorder re-records the resizer, rotator and speed changer in real time, Web Audio drives the audio tools, gif.js workers build GIFs, and canvas captures thumbnails. Nothing is uploaded, because the tool code sends your media nowhere. Video tools accept files up to 500 MB, and every output downloads with no watermark and no signup. FindUtils.com is not the GNU findutils package.
Yes. Every FindUtils media tool reads your file into browser memory and processes it on your device, and the tool code sends that file nowhere. Cloud editors such as Kapwing, Clipchamp, or Adobe Express copy your footage to their servers first, so personal videos, client footage, and unreleased content stay with you here. Skipping the upload and download round trip makes the packet-copy tools, Mute Video and the Video Trimmer's fast path, finish in seconds. Video Resizer, Video Rotator, and Change Video Speed re-record the clip in real time instead, so a one-minute video takes about a minute.
Input support depends on the WebCodecs decoders your browser ships. MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV are the containers these tools are built against, and the audio tools also take audio-only files. Video Format Converter writes MP4, WebM, MKV, or MOV, re-encoding when the target container cannot carry the source codec. Video to GIF writes GIF. Video Resizer, Video Rotator, and Change Video Speed always write WebM. Video to Audio always offers WAV and adds MP3, OGG, FLAC, or AAC when your browser can encode them. H.265 and AV1 decoding varies between browsers, so test your own file.
Yes, and it is a hard limit. The video tools accept files up to 500 MB, Video to GIF up to 200 MB, and GIF to Video up to 100 MB. A file above the cap is rejected before anything is read, so it does not process slowly, it does not process at all. Video Merger takes at most 10 clips totalling 5 minutes, and every clip must share one resolution. Video Reverser caps input at 60 seconds because reverse playback has to hold the whole clip in memory. Within those caps there are no daily usage caps, no watermarks, and no account requirement.
Yes. Video to Audio saves the soundtrack of an MP4, MOV, WebM, or MKV file as a standalone audio file. WAV is always offered because it is lossless PCM every browser can write; MP3, OGG (Opus), FLAC, and AAC appear in the picker only when your browser can encode them. An optional start and end time keeps just one section, which is useful for pulling out music, dialogue, or a sound effect. The browser reads your video on your device and nothing is uploaded. Extraction runs faster than real time, though it is not instant, and there is no playback while it works.
