Random Picker MCP tool

MCP findutils:random_picker

Generate random numbers, pick random items from a list, or split people into random teams. Returns the numbers, the picks, or the teams, plus a ready-to-paste text. Uses cryptographic randomness. Mode "number": min/max/count/allow_duplicates. Mode "list": items (array of strings) and pick_count (no repeats; count is accepted as an alias). Mode "teams": members (array of strings) and team_count (round-robin after a shuffle).

Arguments

application/json
  • mode

    string optional

What to randomise: "number", "list", or "teams". Inferred when omitted: sending `items` means list, sending `members` means teams, otherwise number. One of number · list · teams.

  • max

    integer optional

  • count

Number mode: allow the same number twice. Default false. Default false.

  • items

    array optional

List mode: items to pick from, as an array of strings (one item per element).

  • pick_count

    integer optional

List mode: how many items to pick without repeats (1-10000). Default 1. count is accepted as an alias.

  • members

    array optional

Teams mode: people to split, as an array of strings (one name per element).

  • team_count

    integer optional
