Eisenhower Matrix MCP tool

MCP findutils:eisenhower_matrix

Sort tasks into the four Eisenhower quadrants and say what to do with each one. Every task is urgent or not and important or not: urgent + important is "Do First", important only is "Schedule", urgent only is "Delegate", and neither is "Eliminate". Pass `urgent` and `important` per task, or give a `due` date and let urgency follow from how close it is. Returns the four quadrants with their tasks, per-quadrant counts, and the single task to start on.

Arguments

application/json
  • tasks

    array required

Tasks: { title (required), urgent (boolean), important (boolean), due (YYYY-MM-DD), notes }. A task with a due date and no explicit `urgent` becomes urgent when the date falls within urgent_within_days. Anything unset is false.

  • urgent_within_days

    integer optional

How many days ahead still counts as urgent when urgency is derived from a due date. Default 2. An overdue task is always urgent. Default 2.

  • today

    string optional

Reference date for due-date urgency, YYYY-MM-DD. Default: today (UTC).

  • sort

    string optional

Order of tasks within each quadrant. "input" keeps the order given, "title" sorts alphabetically, "due" puts the earliest date first with undated tasks last. Default "input". One of input · title · due. Default "input".
