A testimonial card displays a quotation with its attribution. Use JSON to Testimonial Card to preview one approved statement, then export a card image or code. Supply quote and author. Add a rating only when the source includes that rating.

The generator formats content. It does not collect reviews, verify a purchase, confirm consent, or check whether a quoted result is true. This guide explains how to prepare a review record without turning an example or an unsupported claim into customer evidence.

Start with a source quotation

Before selecting a template, locate the original statement. It can be an approved customer email, interview extract, or review that you have permission to use. Keep the source and the publication record outside the card generator.

Record enough information to answer these questions later:

  • Who made the statement?
  • Which product, service, or project did it describe?
  • When did the person make it?
  • Which wording and attribution did the person approve?
  • Where can the team find the source and approval?
  • Who updates the published card if the statement changes?

These are editorial records, not fields that this tool verifies. Do not copy private correspondence into a public source link. A team member should be able to inspect the source through the organization's normal access process.

Keep necessary conditions with a result. If a customer describes a limited pilot, do not shorten the quotation so that it appears to describe all use. Do not add a percentage, a job title, or a company name to make the card more persuasive.

Prepare the quote and attribution as JSON

The following object is a fictional format example. It is not a customer endorsement or a measured product result. Replace the statement and identity with approved source material before publication.

Open the testimonial generator. Paste one object. Check the displayed quotation against the source before changing its presentation.

The input handler checks JSON syntax and the presence of quote and author. It does not fully validate the value types or rating range. A preview is therefore not proof that the record is valid for publication.

The date field is display text. A written date does not establish when a review was collected. The tool has no separate source URL, order identifier, approval date, or disclosure field. Keep that information in your content system and place necessary context beside the published quotation.

A testimonial does not need stars

Written feedback and a numerical rating are different pieces of information. A positive sentence does not authorize a five-star rating. Omit rating when the person supplied only a quotation.

This input leaves out the portrait and date as well. It is useful when checking a layout before the real record is approved. Do not publish this fictional attribution as evidence of a completed engagement.

The templates hide the rating display when rating is absent. Use a whole number within the supported range if a real score exists. Fractional or out-of-range values are not a supported rating format and can produce inconsistent output or an export error.

Do not use the displayed stars as an average of several reviews. The generator accepts one statement and one value. It does not calculate an aggregate rating or keep a record of review counts.

Select a template without losing information

There are six layouts: Classic, Modern, Dark, Bubble, Minimal, and Gradient. Select a layout according to the quotation and attribution that must remain visible.

A field can remain in the JSON while the chosen template does not show it. For example, selecting Minimal does not prove that the avatar failed to load; that template does not render one.

The highlighted flag adds a ring in Classic. It does not mean verified, featured by a third party, or selected through an independent review process. Explain any actual verification system separately, with evidence for that system.

Check that the author's name remains attached to the quotation when the card appears in its final location. A decorative crop that removes the attribution changes what readers can verify.

Shorten a quotation without changing the claim

Long source feedback can contain several distinct points. Select the passage that answers the reader's question rather than imposing a fixed word count. A useful quote about implementation support may be different from a quote about daily use.

Follow this review sequence:

  1. Copy the original wording into the internal source record.
  2. Select a passage with enough context to stand alone.
  3. Keep conditions that limit the stated result.
  4. Confirm the edited quotation and attribution where approval is needed.
  5. Compare the card with the approved version.

Do not join separate statements so that they appear to be one continuous sentence. Do not turn "helped us review the draft" into "approved the final result." Keep the named product version or project context when it changes the meaning.

If the full quotation cannot fit comfortably, use a shorter approved extract and place a longer case study nearby. A smaller font is not a substitute for deciding what the page needs to explain.

Use the export in the right publishing format

For a website, the Code view provides Tailwind HTML, inline-styled HTML, and React JSX. Review these exports in the destination project. Tailwind classes need the corresponding styles; inline CSS can interact with the surrounding page or CMS rules.

The JSX output contains static values from the current record. Adapt it to the project's component conventions and check React attributes before use. The generator does not provide a review database, moderation queue, or component that manages a testimonial collection.

For slides, the PNG button captures the card at twice its displayed scale. Check the complete text at the presentation size. Keep the attribution readable when the image is resized or placed beside a chart.

For email, test the final message in the receiving clients. Inline-styled HTML does not guarantee support for every layout, font, or image. Keep essential quotation text available in the message, particularly when images are blocked.

Maintain a set of customer statements

The editor processes one testimonial at a time. Keep a collection in your content system, then prepare each approved record for preview. Replacing the current JSON does not update copies already published on other pages.

Use a stable internal identifier for each source quotation. That identifier belongs in your own records, not in the author's name. Track where the statement appears: a landing page, a case study, a sales deck, or an email template.

When a person requests an attribution change, use that publication list to find each copy. Update the stored record first. Then replace the affected code or image exports. A downloaded card has no automatic link to a later edit in the generator.

Avoid presenting several extracts from one person as several independent customers. A visual grid does not establish how many people supplied the feedback.

Handle portrait URLs and missing images

When the selected template uses an avatar, an omitted URL produces an initial based on the author's name. An external avatar URL requests an image from its host. That request can occur during preview or export.

Use an approved author portrait or the initial fallback. Do not add a stock portrait that implies another person made the statement. Keep a copy of the image permission with the quotation's internal record when appropriate.

If the image appears in preview but disappears from PNG output, inspect the asset's availability and capture restrictions. Test a public sample image or remove the avatar to isolate the image problem. Do not change the approved attribution to work around an export failure.

Do testimonial cards create Google review stars?

No. A visual card and review structured data are separate outputs. This generator exports a design; it does not establish eligibility for review rich results.

Google limits which review types qualify. Its guidance also restricts self-serving reviews for Organization and LocalBusiness pages. Do not add Review markup to every customer quote merely because the card displays stars. Read Google's review snippet requirements.

If structured data applies to the page, keep its author, quotation, rating, and reviewed item consistent with the visible content. Use the JSON-LD Generator only after checking those requirements. Structured data does not guarantee search stars or citations in AI answers.

Questions about quotation cards

What is the smallest useful input?

A non-empty quote string and a non-empty author string. Optional fields should add supported information, not fill space.

Can I publish the Load Sample testimonial?

Use sample content to inspect the design. Do not present it as a real customer statement or evidence of product performance.

Should every positive quote receive five stars?

No. Keep a rating only when the source supplies it. The no-rating example above shows how to omit the field.

Why did the date disappear after I changed the template?

Modern, Bubble, and Minimal do not show the date. Choose Classic, Dark, or Gradient if the date must appear on the card itself.

Does the highlighted border prove that a review is verified?

No. It is a Classic template style. The generator does not perform verification.

Where should I put a person's full biography?

Keep the quote attribution brief. A profile card is better suited to a biography, skills, and contact links. Link to that profile when the reader needs more context.
